I wanted to re-create a dress I’d made back in 2019; not duplicate it, but evolve it. I wanted to make it dreamier and much more extra than was called for.
✦ Made from a variety of high-quality fabrics ranging from 100% cotton velvet, to 100% cotton corduroy, linen-blends, and everything in between, in 50 shades of black. It’s been carefully pieced together bit by bit with serged seams, and some seams are further decorated in a red “frankenstein” style stitching.
✦ This girl is heavy, weighing in at over 3lbs! She has a lot going on:
✦ Fully lined with poly/cotton.
✦ Features a TON of various lace sewn throughout.
✦ Skirt features sections of ruffles on either side. These ruffles are made from various fabrics including the lush velveteen, and lighter-weight lace and voile. Ruffles have either a serged edge or are left raw. Layers of lace are gathered in between each.
✦ Sleeve matches the skirt! Ruffles reflect some of the same fabrics from the ruffled section of the skirt, and are left raw. Layers of lace are also included between the fabrics. D-rings sit atop the ruffles. Top part of the sleeve (shoulder → forearm) is patch-worked and made from chiffon. Shoulders are elasticized and adorned with lace. Sleeve is also EXTRA LONG (measures 25” from armpit, down in the sample), and should cover your palm and part/most of the fingers.
✦ The sleeve fits very relaxed/roomy, and isn’t constricting or tight at any point. The bottom/ruffley bit is very full/abundant.
✦ Patchwork skirt hem is finished in various laces. Bottom-most hem is finished with a raw-edge ruffle and a layer of lace.
✦ Bodice features 3 strong lacey bows, equipped with d-rings for removable rib straps. Rib straps attach to small d-rings in the back that can be adjusted/moved up or down.
✦ Includes several removable bondage straps that attach at various points across the dress.
✦ Includes a panel of shirring at the back; zips up the back as well.
PLEASE UNDERSTAND that I cannot replicate garbage dresses exactly, due to the nature of patchwork and what materials I have on hand (nor would I want to). YOUR DRESS will be more of a sister to the one pictured, rather than an exact identical twin. The placement/layout of the patchwork will be different than the one pictured. The lace may also be slightly different, but maintain the same quality and abundance.
